VMMissions Centennial, 2019

In the late 1800s, Mennonites in the Shenandoah Valley awakened to Christ’s call to share the gospel with their neighbors in the highlands of Virginia and West Virginia. In October 1919, a mission board was formed.

Centennial celebrations in 2019 included worship, singing, storytelling, and testimonials by missionaries (current and former) who have served in the US, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Italy, Albania, Greece, Jordan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Indonesia. Leaders from the Mennonite churches in Italy, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago helped commemorate the occasion.
